Hidden Scars: A Surrealist Work

A surrealist exploration of the dark reality of never saying no, people pleasing and not knowing when to stop, at the cost of your own wellbeing. Using pastel pencils, I have articulated a girl appearing happy and content on the outside, however the façade is being eaten away and her pretence is crumbling. In the second artwork the girl is burning out. Her energy, sense of self and motivation is deteriorating at the cost of pleasing others.
